Ghost Pilot HDR Photograph of a Fighter Cockpit

Wow! What a find for my HDR Blog! A Fighter Cockpit at Flixton Air Museum in Suffolk.

This is a really cool place if you are into taking photographs of military aircraft and it’s free to get in! Of course we made a donation, after all, they did allow us to wander around freely with our cameras and tripods for 4 hours, they even allowed us to move the barriers and ropes out of the way to get the perfect shot!

The battered, war torn metal and bullet grazed cockpits made some of the coolest subjects for HDR Photography as the blending process of  the bracketed exposures in Photomatix combined with some of my grungy post-processing techniques really pulled out the detail to give that urbex, grimey look i love so much!

Technical Details. Canon 5D Mark iii, Canon 24-105mm Lens. 5 Exposures from -2 to +2, ISO 100.

I took the 5 Exposures into Photomatix to initially combine the brackets, then i used a combination of Photoshop and Topaz Adjust along with Nik Color Efex Pro to create this derelict look.

BIG DIAL little dial HDR Photograph

HDR Photograph of just 3 bracketed exposures from -2 to +2, ISO 250, Aperture F11. Taken with a Canon 100MM Macro Lens, on a Canon 5DMark iii. I took the exposures into Photomatix and blended them together using the Tone Mapping feature, then into Photoshop for some layer masking with the Topaz Adjust Plug-In.

The shot is an old World War 2 Radio transmitter, taken at East Kirkby Museum where the 2nd from last Lancaster Bomber lives.

I felt it had that grungy urbex hdr photography feel to it which is my true passion.

HDR Landscape Shot

We found this bridge on a long walk next to the river in the Peak District, it seemed to lead to nowhere?

Aperture F8.0, Iso 100, 7 Bracketed Exposures from -3 to +3 taken into Photomatix for an HDR Image.

Another test fro the Nikon D800, seemed to handle everything rather nicely!
